Dr. Moussa Abu Marzouq, Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, candidly admitted that Hamas had launched a rocket attack on Israel to put an end to the violent clashes with Fatah.
“Even though this group [of Fatah members] follows a foreign agenda [i.e., dictated by the US and Israel ] and acts within a foreign agenda, we are not interested in any internal fighting. They are flesh of our flesh, and we want to break that equation in any way possible. Hamas has turned its rockets on the Zionist enemy to get out of this predicament, in which we found ourselves against our will. The campaign against the Zionist enemy pulled us out of the predicament that was pushing us into a corner”.
